Leading aircraft carrier designer Li Yuan recently gave a series of talks in which she spread the latest spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Li, from Shanghai, is the chief device designer of Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning, and works at the No.704 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC).
Li and her team's main mission is to develop devices to ensure the safe landing of pilots.

She has used innovative methods to conduct experiments with her team during the past five years. They successfully developed a special apparatus that filled a gap in research and equipment.

Li says: "The aircraft carrier can inspire you with an incomparable patriotic sense of enthusiasm and pride."

As a female delegate to the 19th CPC National Congress, she recently visited research institutes, science and technology museums, and mass organizations to spread the Congress spirit.

"The 30,000-word-report about the ruling party has enabled me to know China thoroughly," she says." I think the report is important and meaningful."

Li explains that the theme of the Congress is to remain true to the Party's original aspirations and keep the mission firmly in mind; to hold high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics; to secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects; and, to strive for the great success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.

She also mentions the goal of working tirelessly to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

Her understanding is that the Party's original aspirations are to seek happiness for the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

"Never forget why you started. In other words, don't forget where you were and what your purpose was, although we live in the new era," Li explains.

She says the principal contradiction facing Chinese society today has changed to one that is between unbalanced, inadequate development and the people's ever-growing needs for a better life.

Meanwhile, the CSIC continues to fill the gap in marine defense equipment and improve the quality of naval equipment and operational effectiveness, providing useful weapons for building a world-class navy.

In her presentation, she also mentions the requirements for strengthening Party self-discipline.

"The Party will be better under President Xi Jinping's leadership, and it cannot stop its self-discipline effort," she says.

Finally, Li highlights the mention of adolescents at the end of the Congress report. She says it shows that the nation will prosper from its young generations, and this group will be direct beneficiaries over the next 30 year.
